Tile Bluetooth Trackers Leak Unencrypted User Data

Security researchers have discovered that Tile Bluetooth trackers broadcast identifying data in plain text, posing a significant risk for stalking. The devices transmit an unencrypted, static MAC address and unique IDs that can be sniffed to track a user's movements without their knowledge. Flaws in the system allow an attacker to link these identifiers over time to construct detailed location profiles. Furthermore, Tile's "Scan and Secure" anti-stalking feature can be easily circumvented by enabling the tracker's anti-theft mode. The reliance on manual scans, rather than continuous background monitoring, creates dangerous gaps in protection for potential victims.
